Harvest Time!

It is finally time for the first harvest of some of the Lavender flowers.  We took about 2/3 of the flowers from the one row, cutting the stalks down to the "woody" part of the plant. We then spread them out, some on clean sheets and others on a wire box rack, wanting to see which method worked best.  They are drying  in our little outdoor work shed, and it smells really nice in there.  It takes a lot of flowers to make a pound of Lavender buds.

Row on the left has been cut and is now drying in the workshop

The amount of flowers on each plant is impressive

Lots of Butterfly and Bubble Bee enjoy the buffet

A beautiful end to a great day
